For the launch clubs
Beta note
One page, not an agreement to sign. It says what the beta is and what we ask of you.
What you are using
Renegade Dynamics is pre-release software. It has been rowed with on the Tideway and in a tank by the person who wrote it, and not yet by a hundred phones. Things will break. The beta exists to find out which things, before the app goes on the stores.
The builds you install come from TestFlight on iPhone and from Play internal testing on Android. They update themselves; install updates when asked.
What we ask
- Row with it. Every outing you record, with or without a coach watching, is useful.
- Report what goes wrong. Use Report a problem in the app, which sends the log with your note, or email support@renegadedynamics.co.uk. "It stopped at about 20 minutes" is enough to start with.
- Tell us what is missing, and what you ignored because it was not useful.
- Read the audio notice in Recording with a cox before a cox switches the mic on, and tell the crew.
What we promise
- The files on your phones are complete whatever the service does. Nothing you record is lost because the beta has a bad day.
- Your sessions and roster are yours and your club's, under the club terms and privacy policy, which apply in the beta as they will after it.
- Anything you report gets a reply.
- The beta costs nothing. Live watching is switched on for the launch clubs for the length of the beta. [TODO: how long the beta entitlement lasts after the store release, and what the launch clubs pay after that]
Safety
The app is not a safety or navigation device. Pre-release software stops without warning more often than released software. A coach watching a boat live is not a lookout for it, and a cox watching the screen is not watching the river. The crew, the cox, the coach and the club remain responsible for safety on the water.
Not a secret
This is not a non-disclosure agreement. Show the app to whoever you like. We would rather you did not post screenshots of numbers you know to be wrong, because they will be wrong in the way a beta is wrong and not in the way the release will be.
