Claiming your club
Who may claim, the evidence, what changes.
Creating and claiming
Anyone with an account can create a club, so that a crew can name itself and a coach can watch. A club created that way is unverified. An official of the club claims it, and after the claim the club shows a verified mark next to its name everywhere in the app.
If a club with a similar name already exists, the app shows it before creating another, to avoid duplicates. Where two are created anyway, we merge the duplicate into the verified one: its members, sessions, squads and courses move across.
Who may claim
A captain, secretary, chair, head coach or other official who can show they act for the club.
Evidence
- An email address at the club's domain. The app sends a code to it; enter the code and the claim is verified at once.
- A federation code. A British Rowing club code, or the equivalent for another federation, checked by us against the federation's public list.
- Anything else. Tell us who you are and we check by hand. This takes a few days.
What changes
- The claimant becomes an administrator of the club.
- The club shows the verified mark, and comes first in search.
- The administrator accepts the club terms for the club, sets the retention period for the club's sessions, approves join requests, assigns roles, manages the roster and can delete sessions.
- A Club subscription, when bought, attaches to the verified club and covers every coach in it.
Dormant clubs
A club with no sessions and no sign-ins for 180 days is marked dormant and drops out of search until someone touches it. Nothing is deleted.
