Getting started
Install, sign in, record a single outing without a club, see the analysis.
What you need
- An iPhone or Android phone, and a way to keep it in the boat. See Phones in boats.
- Nothing else. No account, no club, no sensors.
1. Install
Install Renegade Dynamics from the App Store or Google Play. Open it. You will not be asked to sign in.
2. Record an outing
- Tap Record. Choose the boat class.
- The first time, the app asks for location. Say yes if you want speed, split and the course; say no and it still records the motion. Location is off by default in the recorder until you switch it on.
- Put the phone in its mount. Start when the boat is on the water.
- Row. The screen shows rate and split. Leave the phone alone.
- Stop when you are back at the landing stage.
3. See the analysis
The outing appears in the session list. Open it. Pieces and rests have been found from the data. For each piece: rate, split, distance per stroke, and the average stroke, cut at the catch, with the boat's speed and acceleration through it.
4. What happened to the recording
It is a file on your phone, in the open RGIF format. Export it from the session's menu. If you sign in, you can also store it in your account and open it in the web version at app.renegadedynamics.co.uk.
